Responsibilities
- Work with DevOps Architect to implement Agile / Dev Ops development frameworks that deliver fast paced incremental high quality software and enable developers/testers to be as efficient as possible.
- Operate and champion the use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
- Ensure development and integration standards are adopted and followed by development teams.
- Deploying software into multiple environments and work closely with Developers to manage and track deployments
- Manage GIT Repository: code versioning, identify code conflicts and manage code branching, merging and code retrofit activities.
- Manage the application upgrades and support for development and test environments, maintaining the software in each environment through the life of the programme.
- Support the maintenance of key technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate version controls of software deliverables in a configuration management tool, analysing configuration issues and proposing appropriate resolutions.
- Optimize Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery processes and automate DevOps Tasks.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent level of qualification, preferably in an IT-related discipline.
Knowledge
- Scripting: Bash, Powershell, Python for automation of deployments, regular maintenance tasks and monitoring.
- Demonstrate knowledge in software development, code reviews and coding standards and have worked across all parts of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Good understanding of Linux environments: Ubuntu, Centos.
- Good understanding of Windows Server environments: Windows Server 2012.
- Good knowledge in network infrastructure design and administration.
- Optional - Knowledge of Sales Force CRM, Sitecore CMS, Mule ESB.
Skills
- Agile development techniques (SCRUM, KANBAN etc).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with individuals (internal and external) at all levels.
- Effective communication skills – including the ability to give feedback, influence and effective presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of English language: ability to read and write technical documentation.
Experience
- Experience in a range of development approaches – Agile, DevOps.
- Experience with: JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket.
- Experience in using one or more of the following toolsets; Jenkins, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Docker.
- Exposure to both .net and java developments and technologies.
- Optional - Experience with AWS Cloud Solutions.
