Tasks:

  • Executing and managing projects through teamwork;
  • Performing state-of-the-art research in optimization of electric and natural gas transmission and distribution networks;
  • Creating technical designs and modeling algorithms for new functionalities;
  • Working with advanced mathematical calculations (e.g. LP/MIP) related to power systems engineering and simulation analytics;
  • Writing functional tests for new or modified features;
  • Analyzing business requirements and translate into technical designs;
  • Preparing technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related field;
  • 3+ years related experience;
  • Skills and experience in optimization algorithms and data analytics;
  • Experience in linear programming (LP) and mixed-integer programming (MIP), solving very large problems involving hundreds of thousands of variables and constraints;
  • Experience in decomposition techniques for reducing very large problems; e.g. Lagrangian Relaxation, column generation, etc.
  • Willingness to develop C++/C#/C/MATLAB skills;
  • Knowledge in forecasting algorithms using e.g. machine learning;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (fluent in English);
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum is a plus.
