The Key Responsibilities:

• Module design (requirement analysis, search for information on solutions, specify and document design);
• Programing of software modules (developing SAS programs, macros and processes, debug and execute algorithms and data structures);
• Planning, Design and Implementation of authorization, script and data structures;
• Developing of Unix based scripts to automate processes on the SAS-Infrastructure;
• Analysis and Optimizing SQL-Queries;
• Support for the optimization / troubleshooting / performance of applications;
• Preparing best practice, how to manuals and workshops
• Reviewing source code;
• Developing and performing unit/module test including test results analysis and initial root cause analysis;
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe; development, logic, coding, testing changes and improvements;
• Problem analysis and escalation.

 Must have:

• Very good knowledge about SAS 9.3 concept (incl. collaboration of Web-Server, Application-Server, Metadata-Management and Scalable Performance Data Server);
• At least 2 years of practical experience in SAS-Base programming under using SAS Enterprise Guide, Business Intelligence Studio, Data Integration Studio, SAS Management-Console;
• Profound knowledge about software development regarding SAS 9.3, Unix, Web Technologies (HTML, Javascript, XML);
• Several years of practical experience with databases and strong SQL knowledge;
• Many years of practical experience in Unix-scripting;
• General knowledge about local project management and software engineering processes;
• Business understanding (e.g. ensuring that technical solution are simple, reliable and cost effective);
• Fluent in English, spoken and written ; German preferable;
